Often when you use your computer day in and day out, the one thing that you don’t necessarily give enough thought to is web security and web threats.  People can think “it won’t happen to me”, but without basic web security in place you are leaving your computer system at risk, and giving hackers an in to your personal and often confidential information, as well as potentially allowing a virus to destroy your hard drive.

There are so many web threats out there, but luckily there is also a good range of web security as well, for instance antivirus tools, spyware blasters, adware removers and so on, that you will be able to find what you are looking for.   Do remember that these are only effective against web threats if they are used!

Checking whether your computer system security is good enough is really down to you, it’s no good switching it all on, going online, and then finding that it was just not upto the job – it will be too late then. Read the rest of this entry »
